4 Tips For a No-Stress Wedding

FacebookTweetPinPrintLinkedIn

Although getting married is supposed to be one of the most exciting things that can happen in life, for many people it’s also one of the most stressful. It can be a complicated and overwhelming experience if you don’t hire a professional wedding planner. Heck, even brides and grooms without wedding planners can find themselves morphing into bridezillas and groomzillas.

The great news is that it doesn’t have to be a stressful experience. It’s all about finding the right mindset before the big day, to ensure that you have a smooth wedding. Take a look at some of the best tips for ensuring a stress-free wedding day.

Choose Your Venue First

There’s plenty that goes into planning a wedding. But one of the first things you should do is to choose your venue. That way, you know where it will be, and everything else can follow. Planning a wedding when you’re not sure where it will be, makes it impossible to truly plan. So if there’s one thing you should prioritize getting out of the way before anything, it should be locking down where it will take place.

Plan Ahead

One of the biggest reasons for wedding day stress is feeling like you’re racing the clock. There’s so much to get done in time for the big day, that it’s important that you give yourself as much time as possible. The less you have to rush, the less you’ll stress. It’s really that simple.

So, set a schedule with checkpoints. For example, set a date that you hope to have hired the wedding photographer by, and another date you hope to have chosen your guest list, and so on. By having a strategic schedule set in place, you’ll make sure that you stay on top of your goals rather than struggling to keep up. Lastly, make sure that you always add a time cushion to whatever goals you set. A little extra time is always better for your sanity.

Set a Budget

Another major stress factor for planning a wedding is finances. Weddings are expensive— and that’s no secret. However, if you set a budget for yourself then you’ll be less likely to surpass what you can afford. Rather than stressing yourself out about what your final expenses will be, carefully measure them out as you go and don’t stretch your budget past what you can realistically afford.

Even though you might want your day to be perfect, sometimes you have to make small sacrifices to stay within how much you can actually pay.

Enjoy Yourself!!

At the end of the day, your wedding is supposed to be a joyous celebration. Don’t forget to enjoy yourself throughout the process. After all, it’s supposed to be fun, not stressful. take deep breaths now and then and remind yourself but the point is to celebrate your love with someone, not add extra stress to your life
